Tramadol, an opiod pain killer is used to relieve moderate to severe levels of pain, and has various applications. In addition to being utilized for its analgesic properties, Tramadol is also utilized in relieving the symptoms of restless leg syndrome. While chemically similar to the likes of codeine and fentanyl, Tramadol ingredients are less likely to be abused. However, as with any opiod based analgesic caution should be exerted as addiction is still possible.

Tramadol ingredients can be administered alone or with the addition of acetaminophen as in Ultracet. Both forms of the medications are considered controlled substances and require a prescription. It is available in oral formulations ranging from tablets and capsules to sublingual liquid. Tramadol is also available for injection and intravenous administration.
